Frequently Asked Questions:
“I’m terrified of needles, is this going to hurt?”
— Many people have a fear of needles. Maybe your yearly flu vaccination makes you flinch as it’s administered. But the needles used in acupuncture are far different from the ones used to draw blood or deliver a vaccine. In this case, the pins being used are quite fine. As a result, most people report little or no pain from the treatment. So if agony is your main concern when considering this treatment for your condition, rest assured: It shouldn’t hurt.
“ Is this covered by my insurance?”
- Quick Prick Acupuncture does not accept insurance. However, HSA and Flexible Spending can be used to cover treatment. Some insurance companies will also accept receipts for reimbursement. Call your insurance provider to find out what your coverage can be.
“How many treatments do I need to see results?”
— Some people see results instantly, and may stick around for a few days based off your initial treatment. Most people are able to come once a week, or every two weeks and keep their ailments at bay. Acupuncture is something you need to be consistent with to see lasting results.
“What can I expect at my initial appointment?”
— The initial appointment will last about 1.5 hours and will consist of full coverage of your health history, tongue and pulse diagnosis, and a 30 minute acupuncture treatment. Loose, comfortable clothing is best. Follow up appointments are 1 hour.
“How will acupuncture help my covid19 related ailments?”
— Many that have had covid19 unfortunately have long-term issues that still plague them. Some of those issues include: loss of taste and/or smell, chronic fatigue, chronic shortness of breath, headaches, and gastrointestinal distress. Acupuncture helps to boost the immune system, restore balance to the body, and relieve those chronic issues associated with covid19.
